Sharing The Journey Award

In 2009, the Foundation will again honor individuals with the “Sharing the Journey” award. Awards will be given to both a survivor and an employee in the cruise line industry, and also to a survivor and an employee in the aviation industry.

The survivor award will be presented to those who have offered assistance that furthers the Foundation’s mission of empowering people following tragedy. Examples include speaking in classes, workshops, volunteering and helping other survivors.

Recipients of the employee awards will be people who have contributed to helping survivors above and beyond the expectations of their daily job responsibilities. Their assistance may or may not be related to a formal response and may also include any activity involving an employee of a member organization who has personally contributed to a survivor in need of assistance.

Rules and other Information

Neither an individual nor his or her company is required to be a member of the Foundation to be honored, but nominees must exhibit the qualities and actions detailed above for both employees and survivors.

The awards to the cruise industry recipients will be given at the Cruise Conference at Port Everglades on May 19-20, 2009. The aviation industry recipients will be presented with the awards at the Aviation Conference in Calgary, Canada on September 15-16, 2009.
